Last month, the 2015-2016 edition of the United Nations Handbook was released. The UN Handbook is published annually by the New Zealand Government since 1961. It is a useful reference guide containing current information about all UN organisations, including their purpose, structure and membership.
The handbook is mainly focused on information about the six UN organs established by the UN Charter: the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council, Trusteeship Council, International Court of Justice and the Secretariat. It also contains chapters on subsidiary and related UN bodies and specialised agencies like UNICEF, ILO and IMF.
